Bora Bora Recap
This spring, Phil and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary and I also turned the big 4-0. To celebrate these milestones, we took the most incredible trip to Bora Bora with three other couples. The trip was such a dream that mentally, I’m still very much there. The island life is definitely for me (and I was getting ready for our parents to send our kids to us because I was definitely not ready to come home!). Today, I’m sharing a round-up of some of my favorite photos from our adventures.
We stayed at the Conrad Bora Bora Nui resort, and it was actually our second time there. Our first stay there was back in 2021 (more here and here). That trip was so spectacular, I thought it would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for us so I’m still pinching myself that we had the opportunity to do it all over again.
We stayed in the most gorgeous over-water-bungalows (ours is pictured above) where you wake up looking straight out at the bluest ocean and clearest sky. Don’t even get me started on the sunrises and sunsets. All day long, you can jump off of your personal doc to swim, snorkel, or paddle board (that is, when you aren’t in the most epic infinity pool).
The resort’s bungalows are built on top of a coral reef so the fish and wildlife you can see by snorkeling right outside your door are as epic as what you might see on deep-water dives elsewhere in the world.
You can also take boat tours for a few hours or all day to swim in the most epic coral gardens, or even to swim with (not-so-scary) sharks and stingrays. We did all the above and the slow pace of the days without staring at our computers was so needed.
One of the greatest highlights was the 6 hour boat tour we took with all of our friends. We saw the most incredible sea life at multiple stops along the way. At the end of our boat tour, our incredible tour guide brought us to a quiet, picturesque island and we were able to enjoy the most delicious food ever with all of our friends (it was the yams and pineapple for me (pictured below).
Another highlight of our trip was having the opportunity to visit the Hina Spa which sits atop the Conrad Bora Bora Nui resort and looks out at all of the bungalows and the bluest water. Our massages were in the room pictured above and at the end, they turn on a hot tub for you and they bring you fresh fruit and champagne so that you can relax and look out at paradise. Take us back!
The rainbows we could see off of our bungalow’s dock were so dreamy. We caught this one right after sunrise one morning (thanks to jet lag, we were very much awake!). I still picture this moment whenever the stresses of real life kick in back at home.
Our Bora Bora trip came and went so quickly because we were on cloud nine the entire time. Before we knew it, we were off to Tahiti to board our flight back home to LA.
Is Bora Bora on your bucket list? Have you ever been? I’d love to learn more in the comment section below. For those of you planning on going, I’m also happy to answer any questions you may have. As always, thanks so much for stopping by!
xx, Arielle
